The choir’s first CD recording in 1995 was an important milestone for the choir. By choosing to record songs arranged and composed by Australians we established our interest in the development of Australian choral music. This recording includes several early pieces from the YVM Choral Series, including Ben Hall, Freedom on the Wallaby, Shalom Chaverim, New Zealand songs, Pokare kare ana, and Haere ra and Frank York’s three Torres Strait Island Songs (Serrar eh, Nane Nane and Monkey and Tortle).
